WARNING LABELS

From time to time, in this country and elsewhere, various groups and individuals pressure governments to make warning labels on alcoholic beverages mandatory. They believe this would enlighten consumers and influence their decisions. In its brief concerning Bill C-206, submitted in March 2005 to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Health, Éduc’alcool maintains that such labels are totally useless and potentially harmful, and that more effective action could be taken with regard to alcohol.
