Éduc’alcool buys moderation

Éduc’alcool buys moderation
For its 20th anniversary, the Literacy Foundation has come up with a fun and original way to raise funds by “selling” individual words. Unable to pass up such a perfect opportunity to spread our message, Éduc’alcool quickly purchased the word Modération.

We’re in good company. A number of media, sports, business and entertainment celebrities have also been shelling out cash for words.

Larry Smith bought victoire (victory) for the Alouettes, Marie Turgeon picked up imaginaire (imaginary) for children, Véronique Cloutier bought bonheur (happiness), Alban D’Amours got himself cooperation (cooperation), Marie-France Bazzo bought pourquoi (why), Jean Airoldi owns style, Mireille Deyglun went for famille (family), Marie Saint Pierre bought local, and Sophie Durocher ponied up for critique.

For a few dollars, you can literally buy words from the Foundation. All you have to do is go to www.MotsDepot.com and choose your word, which you may keep for yourself or give as a gift to someone else.

The Literacy Foundation is doing wonderful work for a very worthy cause that deserves our support. But Éduc’alcool saw this mainly as a prime forum for promoting our message.

Modération was one of the first words purchased, which meant it was featured at the very first press conference launching the campaign. That’s the kind of opportunity we just couldn’t ignore!
