Using the media and messages of today’s students

Using the media and messages of today’s students
Éduc’alcool ended the school year on a high note with the final phase of its student campaign, designed particularly for graduation season.

At the heart of the campaign are two in-your-face posters intended to get students to think about their behaviour and make some changes. The posters are painful illustrations of how quickly a reputation can be ruined. A compromising picture or damaging rumour can easily be posted at websites like Facebook and MySpace, and everyone knows how difficult it can be to recover from something like that.

The poster concepts employ the cell phone cameras and text-messaging language so popular among young people. While the concepts were enthusiastically approved by focus groups of male and female CEGEP and university students, the response was even more positive than we expected. Students and staff everywhere were impressed by the campaign, which scored very high in terms of both visuals and content.
