HUMOUR SANS MODÉRATION (French only)
A comedy show for students in Secondary III, IV and VMore than two-thirds of teenagers have had their first drink by the age of 14. Talking about drinking at school is part of learning how to live responsibly. That’s why Éduc’alcool has joined with Comédie Shop Management* and the Juste pour rire to present this 50-minute interactive comedy show designed to make high school students aware of the importance of moderation.
Humour sans modération opens the door to classroom discussion and a variety of activities that can be found in the You Be The Judge teaching materials provided by Éduc’alcool.
Given the enormous success of the 2007 and 2008 tournaments in more than 50 schools across Québec, the program is being presented again in about 30 schools during the spring of 2009. Korine Côté and Alexandre Champagne, two of the most talented comics of the new generation, will share the spotlight at the shows.
The show is available free to schools and requires minimal involvement by teachers and organizers. All it takes is an auditorium with basic sound and lighting equipment, one person to oversee the technical aspects, and plenty of students to fill the seats. The two performers come with a tour manager. The show can be presented any time during the day, including lunch hour. Mini posters are sent to the school for promotion purposes, and support from the Comédie Shop team is always available to help make the show a success.

2008 Tour – School comments:
This show about drinking is well designed for its audience. It’s funny and the tone is never moralizing, which makes it very popular among teenagers.
Polyvalente Roger-Comtois
You have to talk to teens about drinking – and you can’t wait until they’re of drinking age. Drinking is becoming increasingly attractive: Hollywood stars do it, and advertising encourages it. Drinking hard liquor (spirits) is fashionable these days, and there’s a lot of peer pressure. Humour is an unusual and effective way to reach this audience.
Érablière high school
On behalf of the students and teachers at our school: Bravo! Keep up the good work! We loved the show. You can’t wag fingers at kids – you have to educate them. And humour does the job.

2007 Tour – School comments:
The comedians are excellent and very effective; they really know how to get kids on board. The students loved the show.
Monseigneur-Richard School
The performers were able to convey the details of a situation that is not always pleasant, and help students understand that there are other things you can do to have fun besides drinking. They really got the message across. Humour is a great way to communicate the concepts and it made a stronger impact.
André-Laurendeau School
We, the students in Secondary IV, appreciate the use of humour rather than fear. The show was funny. Comedy gives you a good perspective. The performers used examples and real-life situations to convey the message clearly and reach kids our age.
