AlternalcoolTM: A Brand-New Search Filter Now Available on the Tastet App
Ordering a non-alcoholic drink that’s both tasty and stylish shouldn’t feel like a treasure hunt. That’s what inspired the pilot project led by Éduc’alcool and Tastet, which are launching a brand-new search filter, Alternalcool™. This new feature highlights Quebec venues where non-alcoholic and low-alcohol drink offerings are treated with the same care, prestige, and expertise as the wine list.
One Filter, One Movement
With a single click, the Alternalcool™ filter—directly integrated into the Tastet app—lets you find restaurants and bars that take pride in their non-alcoholic or low-alcohol offerings. Whether you choose to switch it up, take it easy, or abstain for the evening, it offers the option to never sacrifice either enjoyment or flavour.
Tastet goes even further: the AlternalcoolTM criterion is now officially part of its restaurant rating system, alongside cuisine and service. This adds another requirement for the establishments being rated, but sends a strong message to the entire industry: these initiatives matter.
A Pilot Project Built for Growth
This partnership with Tastet serves as an initial stepping stone that Éduc’alcool aims to expand. The goal is to increase opportunities to discover Alternalcool™ establishments, regardless of the planning tools or the location they are looking for their next night out.

First developed by Éduc’alcool several years ago, the Alternalcool™ concept has gained strong momentum through initiatives like the Lauriers de la gastronomie québécoise, where the Alternalcool Grant will celebrate its 3rd edition in 2027.
